When Should Windows be Boarded Up in DFW?

Many businesses in Dallas need to be able to continue operating while window replacement occurs. But you don’t want there to be a large hole that exposes your customers to the outside weather. You also need to be able to prevent unauthorized access to the property when the business is closed.

Sometimes, due to vandalism or storms, the old glass might be broken before the new glass arrives. In these cases, we recommend that you have your windows boarded up. When we board up a window, we clean up the debris from the previously damaged window, and then we put in a neat, plywood barrier over any openings in the glass. Once the new glass arrives, it can be installed promptly.

While a boarded up window or door may look unsightly, remember that it is only a temporary solution. Customers will usually understand that you are making repairs to the property and making it better.

If your old glass is intact, you don’t need to have your windows boarded, because we can simply wait for the new glass to come before removing the old glass.
