Glass Upgrades to Keep Your Pets Safer

We recently were called to inspect a window that had been damaged by a dog. What happened exactly? The dog was chasing squirrels, and this ended up in a damaged window. We were able to replace the old glass with something new and stronger, ensuring that both the animals and humans in this home will be able to remain safe.

There are many reasons why we recommend tempered glass. This heat-treated glass is much stronger than standard glass. This means that if your pets happen to bump into it for whatever reason, it is much less likely to break. In the event that it does break, this glass is designed to shatter into small pebbles, which is much safer than the jagged edges that standard glass makes when it breaks.

Most tempered glass now comes in Low-E form, an energy efficient design that lets light in while keeping heat out.

When we think of securing our home, we usually have the idea of break-ins or weather events in mind. However, as we all know, sometimes our pets can throw some chaos into the mix as well. To keep your furry friends safe, we recommend tempered glass for all of your windows, but most definitely the ones in the most high-traffic areas of your home.
